HALAL FOOD FORENSICS TRAINING
Synopsis
Halal Food Forensics Training (HaFFoT) explores the fundamental principles of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) testing – a crucial element enabling the unique formation and functioning of cells. HaFFoT immerses participants in essential aspects of DNA testing, providing fundamental knowledge about DNA. It covers techniques for DNA extraction from food products and specifically addresses Porcine DNA detection using the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method. By the end of the training, participants will have gained insights into the application of DNA testing to ensure the Halal integrity of food products, employing advanced forensic methodologies to uphold Halal standards.
Objectives
1. To equip participants with the principles of deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) testing and its application in Halal Food Forensics.
2. To provide hands-on experience in DNA extraction techniques from various food products, and Porcine DNA detection using the Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) method, employing advanced forensic methodologies.
